Together Again Wood : Cut (Part II)When they say it is all about wood, it is. The Migrant Ecologies Project weaves every bit of nature in an artist form. Solo exhibition by Lucy Davis depicts the past and present movement and migrations of nature cultures in art and life in Southeast Asia through wood collages, charcoal drawings and fragments.

Do androids dream of electric sheep? Admire various mixed media of 2-D and 3-D artwork created by 20 Singaporean artists who have been insipired by the movie Bladerunner. This classical cult film will lead to a series of proud showcase of limited edition jewellery pieces and design objects from Singapore's most anticipated artists.

Meow (R18) Bringing about real life situation of Malay couple, Meow particularly addresses the cultural and sexual values of a working class couple and brittle hegemony of multi-culturalism and racial tolerance in Singapore. The play performed by Dew M Chaiyanara, Faizal Abdullah and Hemang Yadav portrays a bitter subaltern couple squabble after receiving an instant wealth in the Singapore Big Sweep (one million dollar) and the subtle change and revelations of desires created by social circumstances. This play creates awareness of verbal abuse, physical violence, racism, sexism and classism.

The best of First Take 2009 First Take which is a monthly affair happens on the 1st Monday of every month. It screens a series of new and fresh local short films, followed by Q&A by filmmakers. First Take serves as a platform for new filmmakers to meet, exchange ideas and showcase their work; and all who are interested in filmmaking. Take your eyes on a visual treat as you watch the most popular First Take films of each month, do not forget to cast your votes!
