Who said novelties are for special occasions? Let in2it present to you - Novelties for your everyday. Read on as my favourite vocalist, Cheryl Loon step out of her shell to tell us all about her band. If you have yet to listen to them sing, it's time you find out what you have been missing out.

Band name: Novelties

Genre: Pop rock with a touch of jazz

Number of years / months: 2 years plus

Tell us more about your band.

We're pretty much a multi racial band because Novelties consist of two Malays, two Chinese and one Pakistan/Chinese; we have a close bond without any racial discrimination. The band comprises of two guitarists, a drummer, a bassist and a vocalist.

How did you guys start out?

Novelties was formed in early September 2006 in a school camp and have ever since been making music in the comfort of Republic Poly's jamming studio alongside its music advisors and friends who have greatly helped them in their music.

Tell us about your jamming schedule.

We jam at least once a week.
But we are on hiatus at the moment as some of the members are currently serving National Service.

Where do you guys usually jam?

Beat merchant, Orlando or Four tones.

What are the gigs/events you have performed in?

What do you enjoy most about being in a band?

The process of having a song composed on an acoustic guitar transforming into a song with a full band. We always get excited about the outcome of the song.

What is your greatest joy as a band so far?

That we are not just band mates but really good friends.
We travel together ;)

Who is/are your inspiration? Why?

Paramore, Janne Da Arc, Shiina Ringo, The Crash, The Cure, MYMP, The Almost, Steve Vai etc.. Seriously the list could go on forever.

Is there any direction you guys are heading towards?

Get noticed, Get spotted and Get a deal!

What will you say to budding bands?
