A male version of a brazilian wax, a boyzilian deals with the back, sac and crack area. Based on a verbal poll that we did, most men recoil at the idea. However, its increasing popularity with the younger generation has more men giving it a chance. Raging sex symbol David Beckham was spotted sporting a silky smooth physique for a recent Armani campaign. Inspired by his courage, we check out what all the fuss- or fuzz- is all about.

 
in2it.sg gets down and dirty with *Zachariah Kang, 21. A student at a local university, Zachariah has been through his fair share of self-grooming. Regular haircuts? Check. Trimming his eyebrows, check. But a boyzilian? That is territory that most boys don’t venture into. However, he is willing to share his experience with in2it.sg and we are willing to spill.

Zachariah had his first time, or ‘virgin’ experience at Strip Paragon. He was very definite that it was entirely his own decision to visit a waxing salon.

Most of you are wondering by now... Why did he do it? According to Zachariah, hygiene was the main reason to try it out. “Besides,” he reasoned, “I expect the same of my partner.” He also quoted neatness as a motive. Who can argue with that?

How was his experience? Zachariah admitted that it was a tad awkward, as a male therapist was selected to do the job. However, he said that the therapist made it very professional. Furthermore, he fulfilled his goal. He concluded that it was overall a good first experience. Zachariah conceded that he would go again, but he never did. Laughing, he said, “It’s *’leceh’ to have to go to a salon to get the job done.”

Now the crucial question: Did it hurt? Zachariah claimed that there was some discomfort when waxing the groin area, but otherwise, the ‘rest was okay’. He said that he was nervous beforehand, but he was definitely pleased with the end result, and so was his girlfriend!

When asked if he has any advice for men out there who want to give boyzilians a whirl, Zachariah says that hair down there has to be a certain length before getting a wax. We understand from the Strip therapists that pubic hair has to be at least 6mm in length before it can be properly done- and Strip salons are nothing if not proper.

If you want to take a leaf out of Zachariah’s book and get all nice and clean, make sure to select the correct salon as not all Strip outlets deal with the male bush. Look for the word ‘co-ed’ before you get all hasty. One last piece of advice: Let us know how it went!
