It’s that time of year again where our Nation’s flag takes front and centre stage and everyone stands up and sings the National Anthem as one!

Living room taken over by all your relatives who have come to watch the National Day Parade? Don’t worry: in2it.sg has come up with a list of alternate options for you!

1. Make up your own National Day songs! We’re sure you can come up with something better than a Lady Gaga re-make.

2. Failing that, get a group of friends and make your own rendition of the National Day video. Or re-do the fun dance from 2002. Either way, when you’re drunk, both are just as fun.

3. Count the amount of taxes you paid that were used on National Day parades. Add security measures to fighter jet displays and fun packs and you get fireworks!

4. Toast the State Flag flypast. If your friends ‘jio’ you out for a drinking party, all the more reason to toast the State Flag as they do their flypast. There’s no reason to miss it: they make more noise than the fighter jets combined.

5. Come down to SAFRA, where Yishun, Jurong and Mt Faber clubhouses will be hosting activities such as a carnival, a bazaar, and a live screening of the NDP. For more information, check out our highlight on it!

If you read our article on five places to catch the fireworks for free, we think you’ve got it pretty down-pat.

And if all the options fall through, well, you could just stay in your room and quietly recite the National Pledge alone. And no- we won’t doubt your patriotism.
