What is one to do when you are young, fabulous but not rich? It may sound impossible but there are many things to do and places to go in Singapore where you can have fun and not break the bank.

SPORTS
The good thing about taking up sports activities is that most sports require only a relatively low investment cost, it is health enhancing and you get to make friends all at the same time! SAFRA Running Club
badminton_clubJoin their bi-weekly social runs and other major runs like marathons and even the "2nd Link Run" where you get to tone your muscles, release endorphins and make friends!

One upcoming marathon not to be missed is the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon on Aug 16. Get up and running with your family and friends, as visual treats await for your eyes along the Marina Bay area. This one-of-a-kind running route will bring you over the iconic Benjamin Sheares Bridge and through some of Singapore's historical places.

 

SAFRA Badminton Club
Skills are not required as national champions are on-hand to impart their skills to you. Get tip-offs from them and improve your skills by playing against them! All you need is passion!

If you just want a quick game to catch up with your friends, drop by at SAFRA clubhouses where indoor badminton courts are available!

SAFRA Dragon Boat Club
Want rippling muscles and feel the joy of teamwork? Dragon boating may just be the right kind of activity for you! Paddle away!

VOLUNTEER
Do you have a heart of gold? SAFRA Community Services Club conducts monthly volunteering services where you get to offer some solace to senior citizens, underprivileged children and the physically disabled. Meet up with like-minded selfless individuals. Check their events calendar to find out more!

CULTURAL

Are the prices of tickets to cultural performances putting you off enjoying them?

The much-anticipated annual SINGAPORE ARTS FESTIVAL is back from May 1 - Jun 14, and if you're a SAFRA member, you'll get to appreciate international and local art performances at a lower price. Plus, how about checking out the Outreach programmes lined up for the public for FREE?

Picnic at their Green Roof, Central Courtyard and equip yourself with knowledge on Singapore's efforts towards environmentally sustainable developments. Take the TREE TOP WALK accessible from MacRitchie Reservoir Park via the MacRitchie Nature Trail. The first of its kind in Singapore and the region, the walkway is a free-standing suspension bridge spanning Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang, the two highest points in MacRitchie. Standing 25m above ground, a panoramic view of Upper Pierce will take your breath away. Admire the magnificence of nature!
