Staying sober
Do remember to replenish your body with fruit juice (eg. Orange juice or Bloody Mary - tomato juice and celery for vitamins), water or sports drinks (eg.Gatorade or Powerade). Try to avoid caffeine, although a weak cup of coffee may be alright, but a lot of caffeine will continue to dehydrate you. Which is the opposite of what you want right now. Do consume food rich in minerals like pickles or canned fish. Alternatively, eat crackers and honey, as honey is a very concentrated source of fructose, eating a little in the morning after is a way to help your body flush out remaining alcohol. Go for a shower, switching between cold and hot water to ‘wake' yourself up. Avoid taking aspirin or any form of painkillers to ease the pain. Aspirin which is similar to alcohol is a blood thinner that can intensify its effects, causing more damage to your liver. Thus, be cautious when going for quick relief. All you need is a good shower, a bed and plenty of fluid at a peaceful and quiet place. Specially dedicated to my friends, Daphne and Angel with love. Have something of your own to share?
