Healthy living

I personally hate going to the doctor when I am sick, be it a high fever or a minor cold.

Disclaimer: I do not hate doctors. I simply hate the things they tell me; things I already know of.

I loathe the long queue of sad looking faces; loathe the sick mingling with each other; loathe the smell of medicine; loathe the wide selection of health magazine; loathe everything about being in a clinic.

There are hundreds of ways to live well while living it up and zillions of healthier opinions rather than popping those pills.

The folks were not exaggerating when they rein the greens queen. Dark green leafy vegetables into your detail will benefit your body in so many ways. Not only does it clean your liver, skin, heart, immune system, and intestines; it also marks the beginning of the health payoff.

I know some of you simply cannot shaft food down your throat in the morning. But breakfasts still champ the list for meals of the day. Anything beats nothing at all, but if you are looking at something healthy, hard-boiled eggs, steel-cut oats and berries or a whole wheat toast with peanut butter can never go wrong. Stay away from margarine and embrace butter; butter is natural, safe and healthy for you to eat. Unlike margarine which clogs your arteries and depletes your reserves of good fats, butter contains saturated fats which supports our bones, protects liver from toxins and enhances the immune system.fruits_and_vegetables2

Add some fiber into your diet from now on, cereals and bran are good options, however, your friend - fiber is omnipresent. There are two types of fiber, the soluble and insoluble. Soluble fibers in beans, legumes, oats barley rye, plums, berries, broccoli (my personal favourite), carrots and sweet potatoes; balance your fiber diet by including insoluble fiber, such as skin of fruits and vegetables.

Lastly, do not forget to exercise regularly to keep fit and healthy.
