This is the second installment of Destination Las Vegas.

As you walk along Las Vegas Blvd, you will immediately realize that there is just so much to see and do besides gambling. While gambling is still a major force that drives the city of Las Vegas, the days of Vegas simply being known as a gambling town is over.

Among of the most popular forms of entertainment in Vegas are the live shows, which can be found in most major hotels. These shows vary in themes, ranging from stunning acrobatics to live comedy. A personal favorite of mine is "O" by Cirque du Solei. "O" is Cirque's first aquatic show, which features underwater acts such as synchronized swimming as well as above-ground acts. The elaborate theater, built specifically for the show, features a 1.5 million gallon pool, and cost an estimated (US) $100 million to build, is located in the Bellagio Hotel and Casio. It is advisable to book your tickets months in advance as the show is often sold out. Other notable shows to take note of, is Ka by Cirque du Solei, located at the MGM Grand, Penn and Teller at the Rio and The Blue Man Show at the Planet Hollywood.

For the knowledgeable traveler, Tix4tonight offers visitors a unique opportunity to save substantially on shows. Tix4tonight sells tickets up to 50% off shows that are performing on that night. These tickets are limited, and are subjected to availability. For the more popular shows such as KA, and The Blue Man show, it is advisable to queue as early as possible, as tickets are often sold out early.

Mirage-VolcanoThere are also many free shows that one can enjoy while walking along Las Vegas Blvd. These shows typically follow a routine schedule which last the whole day. The water display at the Bellagio's fountains is an amazing spectacle. The Volcano display at the Mirage, and the Pirate show, Sounds of the Sirens at Treasure Island are other crowd pleasers.

As the night falls, visitors to Las Vegas can look forward to partying at the various vibrant and energy filled clubs throughout Vegas. There are many clubs to choose from: Tao, Krave, Pure, Tabu among others. Do expect huge lineups on weekends, but it is definitely worth it.
