I'm hungry for this weekend
I live to eat not eat to live. How we eat, what we eat, they all define who we are. Have you seen those who take a paper towel and dab their fries, we know they are the health conscious type. Or how about those who don't think twice and dig in into a plate of rice and pork belly, those I salute. I had a friend who once told me, in the culinary world there are 3 Fs. Food, Fat, Flavour. The best things in life will always contain some level of fat. For example, the very innocent scrambled egg which we have for breakfast, if done properly, actually contains a lot of butter! That's what makes it creamy and so tasty!

So let's get the ball rolling. One of the many partners Bitez has is New York Dessert Cafe, nydc. Famous for their homemade recipes of soups, breads, pastas, pizzas, cookies, pies, ice cream, mud pies, cheesecakes and cakes, they have won the hearts of many Singaporeans. in2it.sg went back to nydc to check out their mojo on how they became so popular.
For starters, we had the buffalo chicken wings. We could hear each bite we took thanks to the crispy skin. The sauce was heavenly too! Not too spicy, just enough punch to leave you dry and high. We had fish and chips for the main course. The fish had a light batter compared to other restaurants where there was more flour than fish. The chips were also of proper size. Don't you hate it when chips turn out to be slices of potatoes instead! A meal is never complete without a dessert, so we digged into their famous 'grandma goes nuts, seriously!' mudpie. Filled with nougat and macadamia ice cream with an Oreo base, the hazelnut and chocolate sauce topped it off. Like they say, 'I died and went to dessert heaven'.
The food was good, service was good, and we don't see how our experience at nydc could have gotten any better. So head on down to try their famous mudpies and indulge in a little gluttony while you're at it!
