iLLest Cipher 2010

iLLest Cipher 2010 is the most comprehensive Hip Hop event in Singapore’s history and was formed to increase the visibility of Hip Hop culture in Singapore and around the world. It is also an avenue for Singaporeans to show the global Hip Hop culture what we are made of. Through the various workshops and exhibitions and many others, the iLLers hope to spark a renewed hope in local talent about their opportunities to live the passion and start a life-long career in Hip Hop in this week long event.

Competition

The competition categories include Hip Hop Dance, Popping, Beatbox, Graffti and many more! Winners of the Major Categories will be crowned with The iLLest Cipher No.1 Headband, receive a 1 year contract from The Official Hip Hop Trading Cards (worth up to USD $1,000), and prizes from The iLLest Cipher supporting partners. Winners of the other 24 competition categories will receive the respective No.1 Headbands and prizes from The iLLest Cipher supporting partners.

To add some kick to this competition, it will be recorded and aired on Animax throughout the region, so each competitor will get their 15 minutes of fame!

Workshops
Workshops will be held across 2 days, 19th and 20th August. Well know dancers from all over have been invited to hold these workshops!

• Popping & Locking workshop
Salah (France) is one of the best battlers on the planet, an award-winning competitive Hip Hop Dancer of France's Incroyable Talent competition in its first season, and a 2-on-2 popping battle with teammate Iron Mike at Juste Debout international street dance competition both in 2006. Although Salah is best known for popping, he is highly skilled in locking and b-boying. In 2002 he won the Seven 2 Smoke battle at The Notorious IBE (International Breakdance Event). In 2009 he served as a judge at Battle of the Year's (BOTY) in Germany and at Red Bull BC One in New York City.

 
• Hip Hop,
Brain Green a.k.a. " Footwork" (USA has choreographed and danced with the likes of MYA, Gwen Stefanie, EVE, Salt n' Pepa, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Barbara Tucker, Masters At Work, Fugees, Busta Rhymes, Dru Hill, 2 in a Room, Ceybil Jeffries, and more. His experience has also awarded him the 2001 American Choreographers Award for Best Hip-hop Video for his choreography in the MYA's video for the song called Free!! He also just finished in 2008 an instructional House Dance workout Dvd for Nike called Nike Rockstar Workout House.

• Krump and B-Boying
P.R.D (Malaysia) and Jimmy Vairon (France)
Having already made a name for themselves and danced to stardom, these individuals will be imparting some of their skills at the workshops!

Concert

The highlight of the convention is a HipHop concert at Fort Canning on the 18th of August featuring Iyaz, Kevin Lyttle and Charice. This is the first concert for these 3 artistes together anywhere in the world and it is held exclusively in Singapore.

Exhibition/Convention

For the sole purpose of bringing together Hip Hop enthusiast, iLLest Cipher 2010 has brought together all things related to Hip Hop in one place, *scape from the 21st to 22nd August. It is here you can find the history of Hip Hop in Singapore together with a showcase of the bright future it has in Singapore. This convention aims to bring out the local talent we have and show case it to the world.

After Party

No Hip Hop convention is complete without an after party. Attica has been chosen as THE place to be for that week! So come on down and dance till the sun goes down on the 19th of August with competitors, sponsors and many more.

$15 per entry inclusive of 2 drinks.
